Indiana Bulk Fuel Discount
- Indiana opened a two-week pre-heating season program in 1997,
from September 15 to September 30. The state used $1.5 million
in oil overcharge funds for the program. Elderly and handicapped
prior year LIHEAP recipients were eligible for a $250 payment
for a bulk fuel delivery or four cords of wood at a discounted
price, with the fuel to be delivered by October 15. Each local
agency worked out a price with local dealers so the discounts
varied. The state expanded the program to four months in
1998.
