AmerenUE Helps Delinquent Missouri Customers Eliminate Debt

AmerenUE customers in Missouri have a chance to erase their debt and get a fresh start in handling their utility payments. AmerenUE and the Public Service Commission launched a one-time $3 million program called "Dollar More Clean Slate."

Each eligible participant who has not had their service disconnected must pay 10 percent of their overdue bill and AmerenUE will pay the balance. Customers who have had their service disconnected must pay 20 percent of arrearages. The program also provides education on how customers can keep their accounts current, and allows them to sign up for Ameren's budget billing program which lets them pay a regular monthly amount.

The $3 million funding for 'Dollar More Clean Slate' is part of AmerenUE's $100 million rate-reduction settlement. The program will run from May 1 to May 31, or as long as funds are available.

Approximately 40 social service agencies will determine criteria for recipients and administer the program. Ameren's Customer Contact Centers and customer service representatives will offer information about participating agencies.
