May Is National Community Action Month

Throughout the month of May, in recognition of National Community Action Month, many of the approximately one thousand community action agencies around the country will be holding events to demonstrate how community action is helping people and changing lives. The month will be filled with a variety of events, special projects, and ceremonies highlighting community action success stories, partnerships, volunteers, and program participants.

National Community Action Month was created in May 1997 as "National Community Action Week" and became "National Community Action Month" a year later.
