Delaware Gets $2 Million for Energy Assistance and Weatherization

On April 13, Delaware Governor Ruth Ann Minner signed SB 280 that appropriates $2 million from the general fund for the Delaware Energy Assistance Program (DEAP). The appropriation is an on-going item added to the state budget to provide $2 million annually to DEAP. The funding will be divided between energy assistance and weatherization.

This is the second time this year that energy assistance and weatherization programs received state funds. On January 11, $2.5 million was directed to DEAP, $500,000 to the weatherization program and $200,000 was allocated for emergency furnace replacements.
